Kalarus Roman

Roman Kalarus was born in 1951. A graphic artist, painter, poster designer and teacher.

He graduated from the Jan Matejko Academy of Arts in Cracow, the Graphics Department in Katowice  in 1976. He worked at his alma mater. On 7 April 1999, he obtained the title of the Professor of Arts. Since 2001, he has been an employee of the Academy of Arts in Katowice. At the moment, a professor, he heads the poster workshop in the Design Department. He creates posters, wood carvings, collages, drawings, paintings and designs. He is the co-author and co-organiser (with Joanna Piech) of sacral accomplishments (polychromes, paintings and stained-glass windows in the following churches: Blessed Karolina Kózkówna in Tychy, and the Mother Church in Katowice. He won many awards and distinctions.

He creates pictures, posters, graphical designs, graphical marks, illustrations, theatre stage sets, interiors of churches and music clubs.
