Szostak Anna

Anna Szostak. A conductor.

A graduate of the Arts Department of the Silesian University and a Doctor of Arts in conducting. Szostak is considered to be one of the leading Polish choir conductors. She has created a number of vocal and instrumental creations presented in concerts as well as in records and archive recordings.  

She is the winner of many awards including, among others, the Jerzy Kurczewski Award for her outstanding achievements as the choir conductor; this is the only award granted in Poland for choir conducting.  

Szostak established and managed a number of vocal groups, including a team of soloists called “Camerata Silesia" which started in 1990. As its director, she is the creator of its artistic profile, the carefully selected repertoire which focuses on the old and the 20th century music. She is a champion of performing the old music on the instruments of the epoch; she is also an initiator and organiser of many Renaissance and Baroque vocal and instrumental music concerts.
